Who We Are
At Speech Hearing and Balance Institute Inc, we believe all people, regardless of financial circumstances, should have access to the medical care they need. In 2008, our founder Dr. Christina Lawrence decided to help break down barriers to hearing health when she began performing hearing and speech services pro bono in underserved communities.
What We Do
Education is key! We train volunteers to know the signs of hearing loss and processing disorders, conduct hearing screenings, and educate those with hearing and speech difficulties and their families to navigate the unique challenges of living with hearing loss. We provide hearing screenings, hearing aids, and speech-language therapy at no cost to the patients.

Do you have a pair of hearing aids that are no longer in use? We can re-purpose used hearing aids to benefit people who otherwise would not be able to afford these life changing devices.
